After years of putting it out there, we sold our Tartan 10 racing yacht this past week. Yachts come and go, but your point rings true.

Remember not to sleep overnight in the city, however. Toronto the good, indeed.

I'm teasing Toronto, of course. So easy!

I find travelling to other parts of the world that do not have Canada’s wonderful benefits (that are, unfortunately being eroded bit by bit by CON premiers) helps put things in perspective and helps us to feel grateful for what we have, warts and all.

In Kingston, we take the poor man’s cruise on the (free!) Wolfe Island ferry to view our city from a different perspective. To view our lives? I enjoy a paddle in a canoe on a quiet lake to reflect (assuming I don’t incur my wife’s wrath for “accidentally” splashing her with my paddle). 😁

Love this great perspective commentary.

And I immediately got the Thurston Howell III reference (even without you wearing an ascot).

Hope your "three-hour cruise" ended with less drama. Wishing you good journeys ahead.

I love this post! I just got back from a solo road trip to Austin, Texas. There was a Supernatural Convention there and I decided to make the drive from Hamilton, Ontario. The perspective I have of my life is different now. Between the CDs that I brought with me and the beautiful views I saw as I drove, it was a truly wonderful experience. So, my car was my yacht and I absolutely agree with you, find a way to see your world from a different angle. It really does change things for the better. Love to you and your family

It’s a bit like I am experiencing being an old lady. I look at other peoples concerns and more and more I am seeing them in the context of a bigger picture of life. Important to be able to stand back and see the whole.
